We are closely monitoring the increase of COVID-19 cases currently occurring in Texas and want to provide an update on COVID-19 and its impact within our Edgemere community. We learned Wednesday, July 22, that two of our Plaza residents tested positive for the virus and are being cared for in our community.

We also learned one team member tested positive for COVID-19. By way of recap, we have a total of seven active team member cases of the virus, all of whom continue to self-isolate at home with the support of our Human Resources team.

We understand you have concerns about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.

As a reminder, Lifespace and Edgemere are continuing to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We encourage everyone to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments, practice social distancing, and please remember to wear a mask or face covering when you are leaving our community to interact with others in public settings. Proper hand hygiene including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of infection. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.

We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Edgemere management team.
